hey, I need help gett a 413 one wire points distributor engine to start. I need to move it into the garage.

Fuel to the carb, a wire from the positive battery post to the plus side of the coil, then engage starter.

Ok I'll check basically I needed to know if I was missing something and you cleared that up . Thank you very much

Doesn't the battery negative also need to be hooked up?

So since nothing has been stated about the negative wire, might that be the problem, is it hooked up? Recently when I was trying to compression test my motor out of the car you guys helped me with getting the wiring correct. I was just trying to spin the motor, so I hooked the negative battery wire to engine ground, battery positive hooked to positive (bigger terminal) on starter, and then jumped another wire from battery positive to the smaller terminal on the starter and it turned over.

Does he need to hook the battery negative to the engine ground or to the coil ground? Assuming negative is not currently hooked up.

I got it to hit once then nothing . Firing order was way off . I got th car from a guy in Va . Was his dads project and he passed away. The 73 / 413 was fired once then sat for three years. Looks like all new parts in it , I know of cam, lifters and redone 516 heads. New distributor also.
