Hi Guys!
Just felt I needed to post this , the 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 8 pass wagon in the pic has been in our family for 50 years. My Dad bought it new in August of 1966. I've been maintaining this beast ever since it came off warranty (it came with the famous 5 year or 50.000 mile warranty). Don't let its innocent face fool you this car has worked for a living! I installed the coronet 500 grille back in '68 as I thought the basic 440 grille was too plain (Pop was Ok with it ) Its on its third engine and second transmission , its had two paint jobs and some rust repair work but its a solid car! It originally came with with the Polyhead 318 2BBl & Torqueflite but now has an LA 318 in it. Pop was a Master Cabinet maker and I can't tell you how many board feet of lumber the Coronet carried....a Super Reliable car. We still have the original 318 and trans and a ton of history! It still looks and drives very well but the interior is starting to show its age a bit ......Full restoration is being planned....

Now that's a car that is a family member!

I've had my 73 Road Runner since 1981; it was my first car, and I have now given it to my son as his first car. It might be worth 10K on a good day, but to my family it is priceless, just like your wagon. Very Nice!

Nice car. Cool story. Those old wagons are finally being appreciated.
I once had a 62 Nova wagon that I sold because I didn't have time for it. Was in pretty much the same shape as yours. Regret not keeping it

These are the best stories. Owned since new, used for the purpose it was built, and well maintained. Excellent!

Nice! I hope your family enjoys it for at least another 50 years.

Very neat. My dad also just this year is at 50 years of ownership on his 66 coronet 500 he bought new in 66. His name on the certicard still on the rad support. Bought it at Thurby dodge in uniontown, pa. Traded his 63 409 convertable in fot it. Got 1600 for the 409 and owed 1800 on the coronet.

Great story ! Love it. And you can't beat the styling on that wagon, from the front & the sculpted sides.

Thanks for the great comments guys, much appreciated...Jeff_383 congrats too on your 50 years, it seemed like such a milestone which is why I felt I needed to post something about it. My Dad went from an extremely well used '58 Dodge Custom Suburban to the Coronet I'm not sure of the exact number but the Coronet came in at about $3300cad.
I've included a few more pics as per request, these were taken just after its second paint job.

Nice.

I'm eager to start on my 67 Belvedere wagon, as soon as I get the Satellite back on the road.

Great story, My '66 440 convertible has been in my family for 40 years. Was the grille in your wagon replaced at some point? I noticed that it is a 500 grille.

Seems everyone perks up when you say "one owner"! 48 yrs on mine.

I perked up when I read 50 yrs. Sounds like such a long time, then I realized I've owned my '70 Charger for 41 yrs. now.
