Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the centering pins for an 8 3/4 leaf spring centering pin for a 70 Charger? I am rebuilding my springs and thought the kit I got came with new ones but it does not... I have looked but can't seem to find anything on dimensions.

Thanks!

Off hand, don't know the diameter. Pretty sure they can be bought. Or, if the old ones are in good shape, use them.
If you using heavier springs, might take longer ones, than stock. Surprised they didn't supply them.

Stock pin diameter is 1/2" but replacement spring perches have a 5/8"+ hole in them. Go figure....

Is that head or shaft diameter? Ideally I'd like to know both so I can make sure to get the right size and not have to make any alterations.

check your local leaf spring truck shop . they usually have a lot off stuff there

Shaft diameter and the part that sticks into the perch....

I'm refering to the shaft as the threaded portion and the head as the part that protudes into the shock plate. It looks similar to this and I am just trying to verify sizes before ordering to avoid getting the wrong part.

I'll pull one from a stock set of springs and see what exactly it looks like. Been too long since doing one I just don't remember...

I greatly appreciate it. Should be able to get dimensions without pulling one completely out. IIRC, the threads protrude through the nut and the head/guide should be relatively easy. I would measure everything myself but the car is a few hours away and I get limited time with her. If you don't get to it no big deal at all. I was hoping someone had come across this before.

The pic looks very similar and from a 5 leaf stack, the shank is 5/16" dia and is 1 7/8" long....threads are about 7/8" long. It's been years since I've stacked springs and couldn't remember exactly how they were made. Getting Old Timers lol
