I have a guy who has a decent looking 79 300. These cars are based off the B body Córdoba platform. He wants to trade me for a 66 Dodge Polara I have. I'm interested in the trade because his 300 has T tops. I've never seen one with a T top. I've done a little research & looks like 4292 300's where built in 79. All white except 477 Canadian red cars. I've found where a sun roof was an option. Nothing on the T top. So does anyone know the production of the 79 300 with the T top.

If your Polara is a 2 door, I wouldn't trade for that 300. That full red interior is pretty harsh on the eyes.

I've continued my reasearch. Found two sites that list 200 where made with the T top & one that estimates 228 where made

Yeah, unfortunately the number vary quite a bit. The numbers I hear most are 3800 with 6 RED for Canada. Some may have dealer installed options such as the T tops, sunroofs, vinyl tops that won't show up in the numbers.(Yes I know that the sun roofs and T tops were factory installed too)
That 300 looks good and should be in the same price range as the Polara. The thing to look for are what the 300 has that the Polara does not.Maybe air, tilt, cruse, power windows and locks,,things that may be more desirable for you. Yeah the Lean Burn may or may not be there but the 300's run and drive damn good and to me are fun to drive. What are the miles on both cars ??

The Polara is a 383 with factory a/c & 82 thousand miles. The 300 has the E358 360 lots of power options including an 8 track & factory CB radio. 128 thousand on the 300. He says it runs good & strong

Believe it or not the big 4 door American cars sell decent if in good shape. I sell a lot of parts for them. A lot of grandpa types like these cars & love to drive around on the weekends with the grand kids. 4 doors in general are cheaper cars & a lot of guys can afford to play

Maybe hard on a sensitive person, but I think bright-red interiors are the best, followed by orange and B5. ANY color, but boring black.

I say make the trade. Finding a Doba, Magnum or 300 with t tops is rare indeed....and with all the other goodies it has and the condition...its a good trade.

The Red nterior doesn't bother me. Not my favorite , but no big deal. I've owned 3 or 4 cars with red interior. Make it easy to find parts since all came with red in the US.

It is true that these late-b 300's are rare, but so are people that really WANT them (I think my Magnum with T-s sat on that guy's lot for at least a year.) I would make the trade. Based on Commando 1's appraisal of your Polara (and all other C bods!!) I would say you would come out ahead on the trade $-wise (if the condition of the 300 is as advertised), but the real reason to do the deal is because of the t-tops. My Magnum has t-tops and I REALLY enjoy driving around with them removed. For replacement part reference, I believe the RED!!! interior was a 1979 only color in the late-B's.

I had a 77 B body Monaco with red nterior. Same body as my avitar which is a 77 B body Fury. I had a friend that had a 75-77 round head light Córdoba with red interior. My Magnum had red interior but it was a 79.

Haha what did Stan appraise the Polara at. I must have that.
What he always answers a "what is this car worth".. thread: $2,500! But seriously, if the 300 is as advertised, I would do it. If for no other reason, I would think it would be easier to sell (if you ever wanted/needed to) with a simple cl ad. (Once again reference Stan and "Bittersweet"). Tim

That T-top option on that car is rare. (I remember by the time 79 rolled around, many people got fed up with all the leaky T-tops, both factory AND especially from the aftermarket installers. The reputation for leaky 70's t-top cars got worse. So, they became less popular.) Now, you have the lowest & last production year for the b-body Cordoba, the special edition 300, plus T-tops. Kinda whittles down the numbers very, very low, eh ?.

Yep that's what I was thinking. And it has a factory Am/fm 8 track & CB radio. That should narrow it down a bit more
