What other Car projects that are non Mopar does anyone have going on right now?

This thread does indeed have legs! I like it! I got a chance post surgery to work on my Porsche 928S4 5spd Guards Red diving deep into the engine as the previous owner/mechanic was a BONE HEAD left the spark plugs out of the motor, and Hood cracked open for 3 yrs, outside! Yeah, the motor was full of water. But these 928 Motors are a very well-engineered air pump! These are basically race engines by today's standards, but developed in the mid 70s! Diving deep is taking many hours of meticulous taking apart this and that, careful not to break anything, or rush it done. The Cams have NO bearings, just a steel cam riding in Aluminum cam caps, like WTF? But, it works, so, so be it! Also the RC-51 I got for cheap a few weeks ago. And I got tons of Media Blasting to do too as I was layed up for 2 weeks in surgery and recovery.

Not a car, but I have a harley project making a sportster into a scrambler

Progress

Ok guys, this one fell in my lap, I was not looking for it. A friend of mine and her husband are both retired now and they are wanting to downsize their car herd so they can move in the near future. She knew I knew this car, and she knew I would love it, so she wanted to know if I was interested before they advertised it. This car has been sitting in their garage/barn for 13 years since they bought it, they just never got around to doing anything with it......so of course I said "yes" to buying it off of her for what she paid for it 13 years ago. Supposed to be matching numbers, but it is not totally stock as they guy they bought it from was making it a "show car". This 1969 427/4 speed Vette will be a fun project!

It will be fun - At a shop I managed we had a # matching 427 tri power coupe - blue over blue... rear defroster, pop out rear window, T-tops, and a 4-speed... I have never been a corvette guy but that was a nice car.... Almost as much fun as the 62 327 FI we had- quad black.

Yeah, it is going to be fun RT (rolling_Thunder). The Vette will be picked up from my friends house this coming Friday via a tilt load tow truck and taken to another friends house who will check it over and get it running so we can load it on an enclosed transport truck. The Vette is currently in Eugene, OR and will be transported to my location near Tucson, AZ. The car has been stored for 13 years and not started for 5 years according to my friend who owns it. Once here, my Mopar buddy Carl will come by and check it out and we will make a decision on pulling the motor or not. If we deem the motor needs to be pulled we will get the car to his house and start the work! I hope to have the car here at my place in the next 2 weeks! I also used to have a 62 Vette with a 340hp 327 solid lifter motor, and man was that a lot of fun!!! I am sorry I sold it, but I had to do it at the time.

It's a 1972 I actually just got the reseal kit in hopefully it s the right one if not I'll be off looking again no one has a definitive yes on a seal kit for this beast.

nice find looks pretty solid

you know what I always found funny, cars from the 50's and early 60's interiors held up well, I cant count how many early 60's impalas I looked into at scrap yards and it looked like the gut was new, BUT then mid 60's and up, the interiors went to **** in a short time, cracked dash board pads everywhere, steering wheels falling apart, seats shredded, headliners hanging... Obviously its because there was more hard materials use back then but I think we went backwards in the interior department somewhere there..

This is what we call "progress".......it is also called "planned obsolescence". :mob:

The int. Looks great . The car hit a wall needs a front passenger fender. It's a rough car. I have a set of quarters and fenders, and a driver's door for it, the the floor and trunk are good.

And the stuff they build today,, won't be anything left in 30 years to attempt renovation on.

Found the car sitting in a used car lot with most of the cars just looking like junk. Figured it can't hurt to look, you never know what you might find. We came across an 06 Pontiac Grand Prix V6 3.8L automatic. Base model for the drive train with the manufacture upgraded GT interior and some other body parts / style.

The outside had no damage and the interior was very clean. I was thinking the motor or trans has to be blown. Started the car and was it was running a bit rough but that's all. Asked if I could take it for a ride, had my pocket scanner with me. Took it down the road ran a test, came back with the #6 cylinder misfire. Looked under the hood for anything obvious and found that the number six plug wire was broken in half down low. Researched the vin for any reports, no accidents, thefts, etc just routine maintenance. Went back and made an offer, he jumped on it without hesitation. Came home installed New plugs and wires and that was it. Did some more things to it right away just because I got it so cheap. New everything brakes all around, oil and filter, coolant and thermostat, trans fluid and filter and new coil packs. The car is running like a champ now.

The CFO said I have to finish my boys 81 ElCamino before I get the RR. So off to the races. It's going to be his first car/truck. It was my wife's(CFO) dad's car. She drove it to high school.
