I have a 67 Coronet and I want to paint the side grooves or indentations (whatever it's called) like this Daytona (see pics) . I would love to see some pictures of other Mopars with painted stripes like this for some inspiration since google has failed me.
Thanks -TheQuickster

Those are similar to what is found on a Coke bottle. I like the signature styling. How about pinstriping taped so you can change your mind later?

I'm having a dumb moment what exactly is pinstriping tape?

This is my charger prior to restoration. It was a 36k documented survivor....I always kick myself for taking it apart buuuut...

Still have the rims the old 14" slots....btw I attached another pic above..

Thanks

Yeah I need to get a stripe like that one mine , looks killer.

Also looks even better on the hood too...mine had that but I cannot find a pic on my computer that shows that. I know I have a picture of that but will try to dig it out....

Yeah I thought about that also, the hood lines on my Coronet are also on the trunk and I would like to stripe both but my trunk is a mixture of primer, blue, and rust, so I'm sticking with the side indentations for now.

I think they are discussing the scallops being painted (outlined) or pinstriped,..or not. I vote for not. Here's what I did,..

Moparnation74, what's your disagreement about? Shed some light.
Here is some light.......The original owner whom is still alive and once in a blue moon we chat and remanence over the 3blk. He is also the one whom put the accents on the scallops back in 70. I asked him years ago during the restoration of this beauty about the accent in the scallops and how they came to fruition. He said, "I needed something to break up the black and make it stand out at the track." The owner didn't want a crazy paint job but wanted something different and yet tasteful. It was his own idea per his words.....and I cannot beg to differ with that.....

My charger has a long history and prominence in its days on the east coast. Track, magazines, big shows etc.....Who knows maybe the barn find Daytona got the idea from him.....Both cars were in the same state......but thats water under the bridge..

Hence, is why I simply disagree partly(due to above) but most crazy schemes did come from the hot rodders......

Shedding some light for ya! lol

Scallops yes finally I couldn't think of the name, thanks.

I'm leaning towards some pinstriping tape now so that I can remove it easier in the case of a horrible outcome.
