Looked at a running driving Superbee today.
Non original 383 engine, gas tank needs to be replaced, typical southeast rust. Lower qtrs, Trunk floor (trunk extensions were very nice), Hood had 4-5 pin holes but could be saved, roof had some rust at the lead seams and dutchman panel area was shot. Frame rails were all solid.

Front floors were not that bad, had seats original dash etc.

Looked to be original paint with no repaint, typical dents from a car this old.

I know it is a stab and without pics tough to say but what is the going rate on project 70's?

I am super fond of them but they are never for sale around here so pretty tough to come up with a price.

I have until the morning to accept.

Thanks
Phillip

My buddy has a pretty nice one. #'s match 383 4spd car. Red, black vinyl top, black interior. Last I heard he wanted $35k ...

70 bees are tough to value, If I were you I would take a strong look at the car there are a lot of parts that are a bit tougher to find than most other cars, and not repopped...

Make sure it has complete decent grills that arent dried out and falling apart.
Make sure the rear bumper is good they are tough to find and all the body panels, 1/4', fenders, hood, decklid, hood latch assembly, the headlight splash shields are tough to find, the plastic shields behind the headlights, the tail panel, the rest is pretty easy, floors, trunk gas tank, doors, all easy stuff..

I have sold rechromed rear bumpers for as much as $1100, decklids for $750,grills for $1000, Tail panels for $1000, fenders for $2500, I have seen 1/4"s (nos) sell for $5000, n96 hoods for $3000..

First find one you can buy turn key right now to get a base price, $30K gets you a decent car IMO.
So add what the car costs you, then $4K for paint (not including body work), $3K for interior, $2k for chrome, $10K for driveline, $3K for tires, supsension, brakes, steering, it adds up fast....

I'm sure they want more at least 50% more than its worth. I would definitely not pay any more than 10k. You can buy a restored one for 30k.

There is a nice on in the forsale forum, nice 70 500, make it an RT clone, they repop the scoops now, find a flat hood throw some scoops on that, and sell that power bulge, 440 in there paint it the color of your choice, and I think he was asking 7500 and it had some extra stuff..

What he said. I think it's may be gone quickly though.

If he was clos ei would have already bought it, if that car was in a distance that I could drive there and back in a 10hr shift I would be there with cash already, wouldnt offer him a penny less either, thats a fair price, and car looks all there..

I agree with the guys saying buy one done. These things are crazy expensive to restore - especially when you buy a model that doesn't repop much. If you can't afford the cash to buy a nicely done car - at least consider one that is more solid. Listen to Superb Bee.

Agree. It's already got a nice hood. Perfect candidate to make a tribute.

I just see that he had several PM sent to him. Definitely a nice car

Thanks. I enjoy the metal work and not sure this one would get a paint job right away.

The grill, bumpers etc are all there, not necessarily super nice condition but usable on a driver. It also is an AC car.

I agree on the one listed on the site. If shipping would not throw it so high to me I would go after it.

What kind of stripe does the one your looking have?

Auto asking 8k, so it is in range with what has been mentioned.

Is there a fender tag or build sheet?
