440 headers?

I'm not sure what a "hugger" header is? (fits very close to everything under the hood?) If so, I would read the word "huggers" = hard to install & requiring bloody knuckles and a big hammer to put on.

I think most people here like TTI, but I've also had good luck with Heddman, Hooker & other brands. Big primary tubes = harder to put on. Slip tubes on big primary headers = slightly easier to put on. 1-5/8" to 1-3/4" single piece headers are "usually" easier to put on & "usually" flow enough for big blocks that aren't 100% track cars in my opinion.

I bought Hooker Competition ceramic for my 440 68 GTX during my recent restore. They fit pretty well. Not TTI - but also half the cost. Would do it again.

Hooker competition fits nicelly, but I would recommend a torque strap to avoid the header touching the inner fender (passenger side), specially with the 4 speed, same as mine.

Thanks for the replies.
I am going to stick with the HP manifolds for right now.
for the most part because I already have them.
This is a 76' low compression 440, so I was advised by the Hughes whiplash cam manufacturer that the manifolds would be just fine. The low comp is choking it anyways.
Headers will have to wait for decent heads first, and that's not in the budget right now.
