my dad and i have a chance to buy a 69 roadrunner #s matching 383, 4spd and rear end. body is in great shape. no rust anywhere on the thing. its already in primer and basically ready for paint. 383 been rebuilt and is ready to be put in. the thing is, its all in pieces. its somebody elses project. it would take us awhile to figure this thing out figure out what we have and dont have. guy is asking 6k. what yall think? i guess the only thing missing is the front bench seat

Looks expensive.

When buying projects you really have to do your homework to make sure your not missing things you think are there. That's where it gets out of control quick.

Its a big project, but if its indeed rust free and everything is there including the rebuilt motor, then you are already money ahead. You would have over 6K in sheet metal and engine rebuild alone IMO

I'd pay that for it. Offer him five k. It's going to be a lot of work. As far as figuring out what goes where, there is plenty of references out there.

The skill level needs to be good also, maybe not the project for the novice but I've seen it done with the right determination.

Look for the seat and all of the glass. The engine might have been sitting for awhile too. If it's rusty or gummed up inside, a teardown will be in your future.

Good luck with your decision, keep us posted.

If what you say is true BUY IT! #s matching or not, so long as it's a true RR.

No lies I'd snatched it up

it has all the glass for it. the motor has been sitting for awhile so we have already thought about that

kinda what we were thinking. i looked all over that body today inside and out and its solid. motor is balanced and blue printed and all that fancy stuff. guy said it should be pushing 470hp

he has a brand new hood for it in the box in the corner. the hood with the scoop or cowl on it or whatever its called. sorry im not caught up on the mopar lingo haha

I'd buy it. That thing won't be on the market long. You could always turn around and get your money back.

Just make sure its an actual RR

Don't mess around too long pulling the trigger. Word gets out and either it will be gone or the seller jacks up the price. BTDT

it is an actual RR. i ran the vin # on it. plus the joys of living in a small town, my dad has know the owner for years and even the previous owners and remembers the car when it was still running around. haha

Is the Dart for sale? Assuming you buy the RR.

I'd buy it if at least most of the trim is there. One thing, I wouldn't count on it being ready for paint. I guess it depends how mechanically inclined you and your father are.

there was a box full of trim pieces and we know that its not exactly ready for paint. but we actually know the guy that did all the body work and got it ready for paint years ago. but since its been sitting a ladder fell against it and dented it on the passenger side rear. think we are gonna make offer tomorrow and see what happens. they really want us to buy it since they know us. if we do buy it, it will be our first mopar muscle car!

both pretty mechanically inclined i would think. i rebuilt a 64 chevy pickup in high school and he did a resto on a 69 z/28 20 years ago. so mopar is new territory for us

If you put the phone number for this I would have bought it already...
