hello mopar family ,, can someone please help guide me through the removal process of a ventilator valve for my 383 motor.i was reading the manual,it states to shake the valve for a clicking rattle noise,to prove that its functioning correctly.thanks i didnt want to brake it off the valve cover while wrenching.

Are you talking about pcv? If so should be held just by tension in the grommet.... Shake it after you remove it.... Not trying to be a wise guy...

Sounds like a PCV valve to me. Yeah, that's the test. If it rattles it's OK. If not, fill it with Gumout or such and shake til it rattles.

If your rubber grommet is that hard that you can't wiggle it and pull it out, it's time for a new grommet,IMHO.

oh so just wiggle it out?i dont have to unscrew the nut on the threaded l shaped stem?

Nope, just pull or wiggle it out.

Probably looks something like this.

No sir, but I've never seen a nut on one either... Post a pic.

Do like oldbee said check and make sure the grommet is still pliable... If its not replace it, it won't work correctly, probably $2 at any parts house.
