Can a 68 & 69 Coronet fender interchange with some work?

Can a 68 & 69 Coronet fender interchange with some work? I know there is a different side marker and that's easy to change but I have heard/read that there is a big difference in the headlight area. My question is: Can the headlight buckets be changed? or is it something more that is not easily changed? I need a driver side 69 fender. Mine is really bent up but the bucket area is good. Just wondered if I could look for a 68 also or should I stick with a 69 only.

I thought the only difference was side marker lights ....

You'd probably be better off to find a '69 fender.
The headlight buckets are completely different between 68-69 and I don't know that it would be worth the effort to try to modify it to make it work.
Not saying it couldn't be done but I've never heard of anyone that has actually tried to do so.
