I posted this in the Racer's Hangout, and the performance gains that I want are mainly focused on traction for 1/4 mile blasts, but I wanted to post here for additional feedback.
Anyone actually using this rear suspension? I have a 70 V code Roadrunner with a 71 440 6bbl, lightly modded, but a stroker in the future.
I rarely go to the track, so far only once a year, BUT I would like to go and run my car more often (test and tune night) and maybe some informal grudge racing. I really want to build a 5xx cu in 6xxHP/6xxTQ stroker motor when I can afford it. I mostly go to cruise ins and car shows, but as I said, especially after the stroker motor is reality, I will likely go to the track more often, but not for a formal competition...
I was pretty sure I was going the route of CalTracks for improved traction and performance, and I still have some basic, simple improvements I can make to the stock suspension (shocks, loosen/remove the front sway bar, etc). The CalTracks, HD spring perches, and US Car Tools spring relocation kit (for future track only wider slicks-for now my 315/35/17 Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials for everyday work nice) would cost about $980 with the same Viking double adjustable rear shocks. The Street Lynx kit which would also give me more clearance for wider tires and includes the same shocks is double that price. I am inclined to go with the Street Lynx as they seem to be significantly better, and I only want to mod the rear once. I understand that the CalTracks are sufficient for many who go faster than I ever expect to, but if I do something for the rear suspension, I have no problem going with a much "better" system given the difference in cost.

I have one with dual adjustable Viking shocks. I love it. I use it for the strip. Have no road results for you but it rocks on the strip.

It is in my 71 Charger.
Search 71 Superbee at Castrol on YouTube to see launch videos.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. Looks like a little lift in the front, and then nice, flat, and GO!!

Yeah not bad for a 4100 pound tank. I'm happy I put it in.

I had a stock, 54k mile 71 Charger R/T I bought in 1978 at 16 yrs old...starting my senior year of high school. 440 4 bbl SlapStick auto. I really enjoyed beating "Bandit" brand new Trans Ams..with the A/C on in the Louisiana summers. Lol. and yes, 4,100 some odd pounds of yellow and black Charger.

Some researched leaf springs, sliders and a nice sway bar will get you good results and far less instrusive of install. If you do run a 4 link make sure to get one with a sway bar or your will still have major body roll going around the twisties!

I was going to get CalTracks whole setup, but with the same Viking double adjustable shocks and all of the CalTracks stuff, I am at least at $1k, and for $950 more I am thinking "Hey-I can have a 4 link!" As long as it can drive on the highway and to and from car shows, as well as along the coast highway for Crusin the Coast, I am not looking for any kind of "sport" handling, but I AM looking for greatly improved 1/4 mile traction and improved suspension geometry. I will ask Bill at RMS about the sway bar. Thanks!

Yea when you piece things together it adds up pretty quick! Most people think the 4 link will eliminate the body roll but that just lets the rear end move more freely underneath. It doesn't tie the two together like a sway would. I have cal tracks on my roadrunner and I will say they stop that nasty wheel hop for sure.

I haven't had wheel hop yet, certainly not as far as I know, and I think I would know. I certainly know what it is and I have seen other cars with that nasty problem.
Before my 315 Drag Radials, the BF Goodrich T/As pretty much spun at any speed in 1st when I hit the go pedal. With the 315s, I left the line kinda easy for a few feet only then stood on it and saw a big improvement.
Keep in mind that my total number of dragway runs in 3 years is 2 times, 1 year apart. I actually got better traction on the street than the track because I'm pretty sure they hadn't prepped the track since the night before.
Having said that, once I get more aggressive with the launch, on a STICKY track, and the tires grab, something will "give" and that means axle/spring wrap up and wheel hop.
I will be sure to ask about the rear sway bar. I am pretty set on the Street Lynx, but I will confer with a racer in my car club with a 512 6bbl CalTracks-equipped 68 GTX and see what he says.

Got my street lynx kit delivered, I only took a picture of the shocks but I must say the whole kit looks to be top quality. Will post pics of the complete kit tomorrow when I go back to the shop.

You need a sway bar for a 4 link as well. Still the same premis as leaf springs. Still need to tie the suspension in with the body.

Yeah I have a competition engineering anti roll bar installed with my street lynx. I race and my body roll I was having is gone.
