Hey all, so ready to put on the new exhaust and not sure where to look really. I know every car sounds different so I have been youtubing 440 exhaust systems. Everyone seems to be Flowmaster which is ok but I want to be different but not sure where to go? Hoping for ideas and companies to look into.

Borla?
Magnaflow?
Dynomax?
Corsa?
Anything else? and do the tips you put on change the sound quite a bit too?

I've always used Dynomax, till the last couple cars. I'm liking the Magnaflow stuff, pretty well. Those would be my 2 choices. [2-cents]
All the Mustang guys use blowmasters around here.

Flow-masters seem to loud for me. I had a custom exhaust done on my 67 with crossover and had Dynomax installed.
I do like the Dynomax but they can be loud if you get the wrong ones.
That was before I fund this place. They did my 73 with stock bends and mufflers are choose-able. They have sound on their website.

They were fantastic to deal with.

I've always liked the deep throaty sound of Flowmasters but it usually comes at the price of drone.... Right now I'm running stainless mufflers much like Dynomax (straight threw perforated glass pack), no drone but not quite as intimidating as the Flowmaster sound IMO. Tips change the sound as well, it's always good to listen to it before you add the tips... had a set of tips that ruined the whole sound once.

Me personally, I love side exit exhaust.

I really like the black widow mufflers, they have a nice selection of mufflers for different applications.

Got me a coupla Hookers.

You can empty your wallet on " gotta have, cause everyone else does" but for sound, price and quality nothing beats a nice set of Borla mufflers. Had and tried all the others and honestly the sound was nothing like on their web site. Those manufacturer's have a listing for every vehicle out there but really it's like a box of chocolates - never know what you'll get and you pay so much you can't admit your not satisfied. What ever you buy make sure there's a return policy.

Borla hugh, how much we talking? So i do have a magnaflow on my 67 cougar and honestly it is just way too loud you cant have a conversation in the car with that thing. So what sound does the Borla make? Sound clips? the only 440 borla exhaust I have found for a sound clip was the attak series which is super aggressive... not a fan!

TTI headers, ceramic polished, light and cool. Expensive. QTP electric cut-outs for grand entries at shows - can almost knock over parked Harleys. An uncapped big block is the best music on planet earth. Dynomax have been on for 20 years and about 70k miles. No problems or change in sound. No drone, sound nice but conversation in the car is easy. No matter what I ever own, the recipe wil be TTI, QTP, Dynomax. In that order front to rear.

Stainless 3" X pipe with some cheap straight threw mufflers, sounds awesome but a bit quite for me.

People seem to like my Pypes exhaust on one of my cars, the Borla on the other.
