Hey all I'm trying to find this return hose. I went to auto store and they only had the small line but this looks like large return to Small hose. Anyone else have this setup?

I think that housing is for 61 to 64, as I have never seen one that has the low pressure return going into the top on 68 or newer. I could be wrong, but the ones I have seen go into the side like this one and may explain why you have the odd hose fitting on the gearbox because the wrong pump is installed. The smaller hose should go from gearbox to pump.

Should be a 3/8" hose. Yours looks like it has another hose over top for some reason. If you use the original style clamps you'll need to find a heavy wall hose. I was able to find the right size OD hose at one of my 'old school' parts houses around here. It was new hose but these guys can do it all, they make custom high pressure hoses too.

Looks to me like you have a 3/8 nipple on the steering gear for use with a Saginaw pump. The federal pump uses a 1/2 or 5/8 return line, hence the adaptation.

Yea I knew something was off with the two hose deal, so there is a federal power steer box to match the pump?

A very good place to get the part you are looking for is Bouchillon Performance. Ask for Randy. Very good mopar guys. My suggestion is get a set of calipers and measure the nipple on the power steering pump and measure the nipple on the steering box. The federal pump should have the smaller .375 dia. nipple which will use a 3/8 hose. The steering gear looks like it has .665 dia nipple from the picture. I just went through the same problem. The nipple on my steering box was much larger than the power steering pump. The hose for the larger dia nipple .665 on a TRW pump should be a 5/16 hose. If you need the larger dia nipple .665 for the power steering gear, I have one. brand new they will run you $72.00. I have one for 35.00. you will need o rings for it.

What size is your hose 5/8"? My car has a 5/8" return hose . If they are different sizes on pump and steering box I'd be looking for another pump the same size as steering box. Gates makes a 5/8" hose 10RLA (I think is the number) Carquest number 35003. Bought one from Rick Ehrenberg on ebay, $10 more than if you bought at parts store. Didn't know gates made them, paid $10 to find out.

If your steering box has a 5/8" fitting and the pump has a 3/8" fitting I have the metal pump housing with the 5/8" return pipe. You'd only need to change the tank. Assuming I can find it. 90% sure I can. Think the 5/8" was on trucks so I've been told.

My gear box is 665 but the pump line is much bigger.

So it looks like I was wrong about my pump. I have a TRW style pump with the large notch out of the back.

The 665 is that .665 and is that the pipe diameter out of the pump or od of hose? The ebay item the part that bolts on the steering box what diameter hose fits on that. The picture is the hose I bought.

You just need to change the fitting on the gear box. Call Steer and Gear or Firm Feel.

I'm not sure but there Maybe an adjustment if you change that part. Just DON'T have your hands or fingers in a place where if the steering wheel turns when you start the engine. The part may need to be move a little to get it so wheel doesn't move. Hope someone chimes in about this. Friend changed a part like that and had his hand on the wheel when he hit the key. Wacked his thumb, it was twice it's normal size an hour later.

Thanks all, I got it all figured out. I went the cheap route and just got 5/8 hose and a 5/8 to 3/8 barb fitting and stuck em together. At least it's better than the 5/8 clamped onto the 3/8 hose that was in there before. Lol
