Do B body and A body cars use the same manual steering box ? I am removing a power unit to put on a manual but the pitman arms are a lot different. The power one is longer and has a bigger out put shaft.
 
I've interchanged them from almost all mopar bodies from the 60-70's.
 
Depends on the years.Yes the box is the same but the pitman arm shaft spline size changed in the 70's to a larger diameter shaft. There are differences in the a and b pitman arms,so lets say the box is a 1966 A and you plan on installing it on a 73 B,three things will be different.Steering shaft length,(needs to be longer,they make adapters for that)steering coupler size(smaller spline size) and pitman arm.( that will be needed for lets say a 69 B.Clear as mud,right?
 
Thanks still not sure what the box I have came out of. Should I look for a box out of a 66 or 67 with manual steering ? My cousin did the power to manual swap man his bolted right up ?

Your cousin is a better man than I. Never had such luck !!
 
I have swapped b and e a bunch of times, I think they are the same, not sure on the other bodies, does it have the same spline and yours?
