Hello everyone my project is finally going back together when I removed my steering column this spring was just dangling near the brake pedal brackets for the life of me I can not figure out where it goes at this point I was assuming that the factory made a mistake It is a 67 GTX ?

Does it have power brakes? If so there's a spring like that that holds part of the linkage

Yes power disc I tried to connect to every logical location

It's gonna be a real bear to put in now....One end hooks in front of and above the brake pedal, the other supports the linkage going to the booster....A service manual would be priceless

I have the manual i did not find it I will look again

I have checked the manual again did not find it but I know where the one end of the spring goes it attaches to the brace has 2 slots in it do not tell me the other end just goes on the booster actuator shaft that comes through the firewall if so it does not make sense but after looking at it again i guess anything is possible I was looking for some kind of attachment point like a hole or hook

The other end hooks to the bell crank linkage. It keeps the "slop out of it"...

Here are two pics showing where that spring goes. It is an anti rattle spring. It serves no other purpose
