Hayden fan clutch low profile

The best just got better. Available through Summit.

I'm impressed they would release a new product, almost aimed at Mopars. There's a Rr in the picture, to boot but I'm sure there are other applications. Good find! Now if someone would seize the opportunity and release a line of accurate fuel senders, we'd be all set.

Looks like the same Jag unit we've been using only with a Mopar specific PN now.

Same height as the Jag unit but in a HD version. More fins on the face than the standard duty Jag. Wish they would have lengthened the shaft a bit to make installation easier.
Just went threw this on my car. Swapped from a Flex-a-lite fan to Jag clutch and Mopar fan. The fan/clutch wouldn't keep temp below 180 like the flex fan. Fan/clutch are now on the shelf. Maybe an HD clutch would have worked better.

There was a longer writeup on this on the FABO forum. I'm thinking of using this clutch on my car, has anyone else done so with a big block / big fan combo?

I think this one is listed as heavy duty and the Jaguar one is not. Otherwise they appear to me the same.

I double checked and mine is the 2747, which looks like the one pictured above, but the Jag is 2765. Some need it for the short shaft, and the 2947 is evidently a HD version of the 2765.

As a followup, I bought the 2947 clutch and used it to mount a larger high pitch fan on my 67 GTX. Worked out well and based on one 90 degree drive there seems to be improvement! Check it out on my project thread:

That is absolutely correct. Sorry I've been off of here for awhile, but I received an email from summit about this right before Dennis posted and I immediately texted the info to Dennis and 2 of my other mopar friends. They let us place pre-orders and we all had the fan clutch in less than 6 weeks. I have yet to install mine, but the fit is spot on.

I originally wrote to Hayden about this almost a year prior and they responded, but it was still "in the works" as an R&D possible release. I came across that old email and wrote them a thankyou just now as a follow up. I thought I'd share that here:

I came across this old email exchange between us and I just wanted to extend a huge thankyou to you and your team! A few months ago I received an alert from summit racing that this low neck heavy duty clutch was made available by Hayden for our mopars. I immediately ordered one and blasted out an urgent message to 3 of my mopar buddies to do the same. That was awesome that we were able to put in pre-orders. I received my fan clutch less than 1 month later and although I haven't had a chance to install it yet, the fit is perfect.

In today's world, often times things we wish don't happen, people we reach out to don't follow through, and challenges present themselves again and again. It's so nice for a change for a company to hear it's customers and actually DO something. You guys totally rock. We can't thank you enough.

Big props to you and your team and for management listening to the mopar community, even if it's not making you a lot of money. You filled a huge need and all of us sincerely appreciate it!!!

I need a new fan to go with this new clutch. What do you guys recommend for an 18" fan? I was going to get the mopar perf viscous fan, but it seems it's not available?

I am using the 5 blade Mopar performance fan blade... this one has a huge PITCH
2.5 inch + together with a severe duty fan clutch this set up makes a Hurricane!
Never passing the 185 deg..... with a 180°F thermostat.... never

Derale 17117 is one option some have mentioned, but I'm looking for others..

Just got the Hayden 2947 fan clutch and I'll be attempting to install it tomorrow, it's pouring rain here today.

This is hopefully going on my BB 69' Dart. I don't want direct drive fan and really don't want to use an electric fan either. The space between the water pump pulley and 4 core 22 inch brass copper radiator is almost 3 inches. So may go to a 2 core 26 inch brass copper radiator that I have sitting on the shelf if this doesn't fit.

almost 3" - 2.670" = < 0.330"

Not sure but a short while back, I think someone posted a picture of his radiator with cooling fin bite marks and had 0.500" clearance when installed. Anyone recall it?
I believe 0.750" is what MP recommends.

I've read the same thing about .750, but if .500 is what I can get, I'll take it.

So since this is an "HD" clutch, I can use my factory fan blade??

If it's a fan originally used with a clutch, it should work. A non clutch type fan will not work.

The fan I'm using on my 440 came off of a 383 with no clutch.
