Can't stand grabber colors

I like this site, the mods seem like good people who are vested in our common mopar affliction. Kiwi seems like a stand up guy, hell he's an electrician, what's not to like? lol I like Jimi too! he makes me laugh and is quite a character and artist. I hope this all passes quietly as I hate to lose either one of these members!
Kiwi, I've seen a few different parts of the world but sadly, never south of the equator. My tolerance for flying seems to be limited to a trip to Hawaii at 12 hours or so. I may never get to see your beautiful country but the wife and I talk about it. Maybe some day. If you're ever travelling to my neck of the woods, you'll have a place to stay!

Now back to colours...not a big fan of these colours either, but I appreciate that others keep them looking like they were when new. They've grown on me over the years. I recall seeing a plum crazy challenger or cuda when I was 16 and thought ewww, a purple car. A lime green 71 superbee got me hooked on mopars a few years later. Didn't like the colour, but it sure caught my eye as it ripped up and down the streets. They really stood out, but not just because of the colours, but also because of the styles and sounds. I think it was an all around great package and marketing plan. I don't get the fascination with pink though. I just couldn't drive it no matter how beautiful it looks. Okay may once in a hemi or 440-6 car :D.
I like them all, just at varying degrees for different reasons. I appreciate everyone's taste in our mopars and the tremendous effort it takes to get them their. I still get comments about buying my 99 yellow sport ram as to "why yellow?" It really was because I couldn't find a black one at the time lol, but it has really grown on me and I love yellow sport rams more than any other colour. Yellow super bees have the same affect on me, just a great combo for my taste!

I remember seeing a Moulan Rouge 70 340 4 speed Dart survivor car at a show in the nineties that had 4000 original miles. The reason it only had 4000 miles was because the original owner got his stones busted so much about driving a Pink car, that he put it in his garage and never drove the car again!
you sure it wasn't because he drove a dart?

I have taken much heat over the years for using a KB alum. hemi for my motorcycle project.
It is said to be a waste of a good engine. To me hiding a great looking engine under a hood is a negative for a mechanical jewel. My whole idea is about celebrating the hemi.

I hope you have all the kids you want, because that hing is gonna cook your swimmers..

good for you for having the imagination and talent to put something like that together.

Wow, all this over what gets sprayed out of a paint gun.
High impact colors were just that, and still are obviously. It was all meant for one thing $$$, and how much showroom traffic one could generate. Did it work? You betcha......bingo $$$$$. Do I like the HI colors?, some but who cares what I like but me. It's the artists like Jimi that see color in a different realm than I do. I can appreciate that, and others opinions also.
Now I feel like the red-headed step child with a mundane, boring B5 Roadrunner. :(
But then again, there is something sinister about that mini tubbed 67 post Valiant down the road, painted in that "in-your-face" vanilla.:D

Yup, just givin it back to him. his car is effin beautiful. I just get pissed quick when i come across people acting entitled and spoiled amd throwing it in others faces. I work too hard for everything to put up with that attitude. His post isnt really that bad and would seem more like hes busting balls, if you simply take out the "whining have nots" that one term takes all the jest out of it setting the tone making him a "have"and throwing it in bladecutters face.

Ha Ha!
I LOVE IT!
Honest and Humble

I'm starting a petition ...68GTXNH for our next MOD!

Well, you have to give Ma credit for the idea. Right time period and it sold more cars. I remember other manufacturers jumping on the band wagon back then with paisley print interiors, red white and blue paint themes, ect.

I wasn't too fond of them back then either but it sold cars!

hmm,
Ford had them in 69...
AMC also....

Bottom line,
The Bladecutter essentially, in my opinion SLAMMED some colors of Mopar cars that many people, including Forum members own and love.
I for one own a 1970 Superbee in Top Banana Yellow (FY1 or F1)
So: to me, Kiwi, myself and others have every right to "support" our High Impact colors...

I can not figure how anyone could NOT like/appreciates the colors....
But: as someone stated: "Opinions are like @$$-holes..."

I always try to use my "Adult" reasoning skills when dealing with a community such as this Forum.
I try not to offend others because of their Cars, Car colors and engine/options....
I like em all....

I'll give the Bladecutter a "PASS" on this, he is currently dealing with a lot of issues.

that sounds like beauty and the beast....
and both are my Dream cars.
that vert of yours is insane btw, major Props.

heres a couple more keepers

FREAKING GORGEOUS!
ESPECIALLY THE 71...OH MY GOSH!

I personally "LIKED" Kiwi's reply,
He "worked hard, had a vision, pursued it and bought his "In-Violet" GTX
Displayed GREAT work ethics, He's a professional man.
That my friends is "Honorable"
I have a FIRM stance on self reliance, fortitude and working hard for a vision.
I am sure, Kiwi did not inherit his money and: like me, I dragged myself out of the trenches in the late 60s, early 70s.
My father left when I was a young boy
My Mom "hit the bottle hard" with no job and 3 kids.
I didn't have a Dad like many of you guys had.
No "Father with a good paying job"
Heck, I wish I had the Bladecutter's father!
A successful Flight Test pilot for Northrup
I never had that in life as I will bet many of you guys shared the same experience.

So: I would vote that Kiwi is far from entitled....

Very well said Ski :thankyou:

Start up a site garage...the praise will come in waves.
People cannot praise what they cannot see.
I don't care about praise, my comment was intended to be humorus, but sometimes people can't see my wink. Actually, few people will like my car because it takes some degree of understanding what it is all about. It was built for me and those few..
BTW Kiwigtx, you do a fine job here and I appreciate the efforts you make..........................MO

Dad flew for Douglas & then Martin, but not Northrup. But Thanks for the prop.
As for the colors...i did say I....my opinion.....i did not make any blanket statement implying People were wrong for having those tastes....
just that I did not get it. It didnt deserve a comeback that i was a Waster. Kiwi was not a thought close to my brain when i started this thread. I have Respect for Anybodies Hard Efforts, whether it suits my tastes or not....whether i like them or not.
10 hours of chemo over last 2 days, poked 7 time today trying to get an IV to take,,,feel like **** right now, so im done with this tete' a tate'.......dog has left this hunt.
:usflag:

Yup,
I was wrong Jimi
He flew for Douglas when Douglas made planes for "men"
Real planes like the Skyraider etc

Yeah, as I first posted: Your fever too high?
Going through Chemo and the Radiation stuff...it's no picnic

Jimmy you can really get peoples feathers ruffled,I still think you could have one model of mopar n have them all painted in one of mopars high impact colors n you would have a line up of haters n likers at each one,we are all in a league of our own,if you own one of these colors, who cares what people think,as for me I'm prone to dark greens, the 68-69 dark metallic racing green,n it even would look better with a shade of dark blue to enhance it in the sunlite

I agree...although my opinion may be slightly biased.

A giant warm group cyber hug and free Skittles for everyone. If you took a bunch of 1970 superbirds and painted them every impact color then slapped numbers on them , and drove them in circles, you'd have a NASCAR race
