70 RR with the organasol hood stripe. I need a way to removal the over zealous wax job I put on last winter from the stripes. The wax is only on some of the stripe.

Alcohol is a good wax remover. Safe on cured auto paint. Not 100% sure of organasol. Try a small area first.

Great question. I have not tried on my stripes, but I have used Lighter Fluid to remove sticker residue on painted cardboard.
I wonder if you try some on an area of the organosol that is hidden?

Just a tip I learned years ago from a Mopar collector. You cannot use polish or wax on these organasol stripes. Stay completely away from them with these products. They will ruin the stripe. Clean with Windex and to help with a nice final appearance use a rag with Lemon Pledge on it. Wipe uniformly so you will not have any streaks.

No with the acetone. To harsh! Kiwi suggested lighter fluid. At work we use Naptha, it smells a little bit like lighter fluid. It's another cleaner that's mild enough to remove wax and is used to prep the vehicles before doing spot repair. Windex will work but is amonia based and will streak and there is a good chance you have some already.

Good luck, I did that 2 winters ago on my 70 RR and thought I was doing something good to protect the organasol/paint. All I did was ruin the look. I tried everything but eventually took the car to a painter and went through the whole process of getting the stripe repainted. Bad mistake! Do not use a wax or try to "rub out" or don't even rub water stains out. If you do, you will have a different "sheen" throughout the stripe. Water and gentle soap to clean, dry carefully with microfiber. If your going to wax between the stripes, tape the stripes off so no wax gets on the organasol.

I had a car painted epoxy flat black primer. after a few years it began to fade, and I used mineral oil ( like baby oil) to renew the color. It lasted a few months at a time...........MO

I had considered adding the blackout hood stripes, but I think maybe I'll just leave well enough alone.
I've tried the windex & that didn't work. A friend suggested Armor All. So far that is working. I just don't know if that is masking the wax or removing it. I'm picky when waxing the car, but a little got on the edges as I waxed it.
