1st class HellCat crate motor swap into a 69 Coronet

To each their own as far as wheels ,tires , paint or interior. I am just very impressed with the build power plant wise. It is clean and very well done for some thing that a year or so ago was considered impossible.
 
Apparently someone with some serious coin got up off of $165k for it, even with what some say are "shitty wheels and painted bumpers". Lol. The console looks nice in that car IMO.
 
'Super Cat'? Really? Like motor trans interior! They went overboard on the grill and bumpers just like that old school look nothing looks better than old school!
 
I would much prefer that Drivetrain in a car that looks like this. 100% Sleeper. 69 Super bee cant really be matched when it comes to pure Styling.

I was looking for a 69 Coronet R/T or Super Bee when I got serious about buying a Mopar muscle car. I had a 71 Charger R/T in 78, and I liked them, but I wanted that coke bottle body with the squared off front and rear look. I wound up with the Lemon Twist 70 V code Roadrunner that I put a couple of pix in an earlier post (mainly to show the 315/35/17 tires on the 17x9 Year One aluminum Rally wheels) I don't care for larger diameter wheels than that.
Keep in mind that these guys built this car to SELL and wanted to appeal to as many potential BUYERS as possible. Obviously it worked, they sold it.
The engineering and know how to make the old and new come together and work so well is admirable. I think it would be cool to put that drivetrain in a beater Bee. I would even name it "Beater Bee" lol, and probably win enough money betting on grudge races and whoever else could be lured in to the trap...
I'm a little disappointed in so many negative comments about this car, but to each his own.
 
No different than a Viper or modern hemi swap that everyone oohs & awwes over...though it wouldnt be my first choice color wise nor bumper painting im sure this would be a kick *** car.
I would drive the wheels off of that thing...or at least do my best too!

It's his vision of what he wanted, I'm sure we all would do something different I know I would. But I do really like that 6.2 blown motor in there thou. Better own stock in tires.
 
I feel like the shifter position and console could have been upgraded given the selling price. Everything else is of personal taste, i.e., color, wheels etc. The console is far nice than I could do, but I also don't see the price premium unless it is hiding in details not shown in the photos such as brakes, suspension. Isn't the crate engine $20k? I know, I know, there is a lot more to doing the swap than just the engine, but the selling price seems a bit much. Can't blame the builder for that.
 
That's a lot of coin. Can it really be driven. Hacked a lot to get it in.
 
The brakes were Wilwood discs all around. The console had some nice touches. I believe the touchscreen may have been for tuning, but I'm not sure. The car sold. The builder/seller and buyer are both obviously satisfied. I think it was well put together, although I would have some things done differently. I would gladly reduce the wheel diameter in exchange for greater width, for example. Considering they did an outer fender mini tub, and my 70 Roadrunner has stock spring location and stock fenderwells yet I have 315/35/17s I think I did pretty well.

What's wrong with Hot Wheels? Of course mine is all stock, but adding red lines soon to finish it up. Got the name cause my 5 year old son thinks this is "his" real life Hot Wheels, and always asks, "daddy can we take the Hot Wheels?" It had two pin holes from where a dealer tag was, so when I found the Hot Wheels medallion, I knew it was exactly what was going to cover them up!
 
I think modern cars are a bit boring and over sculptured and need the big ornate wheels to help make them attractive. The classic muscle cars body styling has a larger vocabulary just sitting still and just by being what it is the message is, "I don't need the wheels", I look good when I am parked.
 
Those wheels dont look bad at all, protouring look, i probably would jave wemt with an 18" though.
Theyre not the typical " gang banger" Avanti 20" 3 spoke blade type you would see on an 84 olds...
 
Well, if a person wants to put those big gangbanger wheels on a classic car, they might as well 'slam it' :)) I mean right down on the ground so when they drive it, sparks fly out from under carriage dragging. Then drive down to the local tattoo shop and get a nose ring piercing ;)))
