Pivot shaft install tool c3848?

Anyone know what tool c3848 from mopar is or where I can purchase one? In my service manual it says to use tool c-3848 to install pivot shaft and bushing assembly into lower control arm. Any tips or advice for installing would be appreciated.

i think mancini has those tools.

I checked all they have is the removal tool

I've done many front ends over and never used any specialty tools. Except a ball joint socket.

Did you get the old sleeve off the shaft?

I haven't done one in a couple of years, so I'm going on memory here. You should be able to either hammer the shaft into the bushing by placing the bushing on a hard surface and hammering the shaft on. Just be careful not to damage the threads.

To install the bushing into the LCA, just get a piece of pipe the same diameter as the outer shell of the bushing and long enough to get past the shaft.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

I got the larger diameter pivot shafts from hotchkis so it does not use the inner sleeve, got the shaft pressed into the bushing ok but when I went to press into the lca the shoulder of the shaft got pressed inside the bushing, almost like there was something blocking it, perhaps I need to clean up the bore on the lca better as I scarred it pretty good removing the old sleeves

I used a pipe with a steel plate on top of it to press into lca, the pipe fit perfectly on the shoulder

I used a small press to install mine but a wide jawwed vice would probably work. IIRC you put the rubber into the LCA first then press in the shaft. I have an instruction sheet that came with the LCA reinforcing plates - I'll dig it out if I remember. You could also try Googling it !!

The service manual says to press the shaft into the bushing then press the assembly into the lca, originally I thought pressing the bushing into the lca first and then the shaft was the best way but i followed the service manual directions and it didn't work out too well for me.
