I saw an old article that said four speed cars got the unsilenced air cleaner. But I think that is mentioned with an asterisk. If a car was sold in/near California, this may not have applied, and the car would have gotten an air cleaner that had the breather connected to it.

In terms of the height, I am just as confused. My Dad's 67 has a taller air cleaner than mine.

Now the paint finish is a bit more nailed down. I've heard Plymouth's were gloss black, while Dodge's were more crinkle finish. But this has also been up for debate, and I've heard it chalked up to factory locations/outside vendors.

It has the duel air cleaner & is wrinkle finish. Now my dad bought a 67 440 4spd GTX new in 67 & if his memory is right it had the same air cleaner as the auto. GTX.
