Anybody successfully get one of these stickers on a 6 pack air cleaner lid? I destroyed one last night trying to get it on there. I admit that I tried it dry and that was clearly a mistake. Is dish liquid the best way to do this? The angle on the lid where the decal goes is the problem and even wet, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how this thing is going to go on there right.

Very little detergent is required in the water. Wet the surface, place the sticker, squeegee out the water and air bubbles[from the center, outwards]
. Just make sure it's wet.

I put a coyote duster decal on my six pack air cleaner and I know what you mean.... that decal doesn't belong there. I ended up "squeezing" mine really close to the front wing nut.... as close as I could get it before the sticker goes down into the wing nut depression.... and it just barely fits.

I may try to trim the clear portion at the bottom and end up cutting the bottom of the decal in a few places to compensate for the angle...or I could just say screw it and put it in the middle of the lid between the depressions. It wasn't original but I want it on there anyway! How did yours come out?

Pick one of these up, 3M Hand Applicator Squeegee PA1-B Blue, makes a huge difference with application, and like mmissle said make sure it's wet.

Pick up a generic spray bottle from Home Depot or where ever
Mix a very small amount of soap with 12oz water
Spray air cleaner lid and also spray the back of graphic after you peel the film off
Place on lid and squeegee the water out with either an old credit card or a film squeegee
Do not peel top film off until graphic is dry

If your going to not use water (I wouldn't recommend but it's possible due to being a small graphic)
Clean air cleaner lid with rubbing alcohol
Put painters tape at center above graphic location on lid and mark center on tape
Mark center with a pencil on front of graphic
Line the center up and work your way from the center out one side at a time with a credit card
Peel film off

Good luck ! P.s. I did all the graphics on my car, frustrating but you will get the hang of it just take your time

Sorry I forgot to take a pic, but I think it looks pretty good. I'm using the smaller '70 round lid coyote duster decal on the front of the air cleaner like I described and a 440 six barrel decal just behind the center high spot & in front of the rear wing nut (stock location I believe). It's not stock, but I like it. You need coyotes on a Road Runner.

My solution to the problem.
