License plate lens orientation?

I assume by defuser you mean the little silver reflective part on the lens. Top/above.

Down... is a difusor just right to refract the light all around the license the best as posible without hot zones

No, by "serrated part" I mean the clear plastic bubble that has one half of it plain/clear and the other half has serrations/lines clear built into the molding/casting.

To further confuse the issue: I don't know if this means anything, but with the diffusor part installed on top, the Chrysler logo/part number on the lens can be read left to right (normal). With the diffusor part installed on bottom, the logo/part number is upside down.

It is supposed to reflect light to the plate. It goes on top.

Bob, goes toward bottom... this is a FULL NOS assembly I have, never dissasembled from new

Diffuser lined part down on my 73 Charger otherwise it wont shine very well.

My bad, serrated. I kept thinking you meant the silver part which I don't even see on yours.
Yes, that goes down and silver part up, I said that in my first reply.
