My Carter 4bbl is starting to seep despite tightening of carb hardware. Who would you recommend to rebuild carb to factory specifications. Also, is there anyone out there who sells rebuilt carbs where I can exchange mine for a rebuilt plus cash. I have a 1970 440 roadrunner auto. I do not have the original carb which should be 4738S hence I am open to options.

I've heard good things about Daytona Carb Rebuilding services and kits. They are not difficult to do yourself as long as you pay attention to all the fine adjustments on float levels and linkages. But if you want it cosmetically restored, nothing beats a professional.

I'd be looking for a sunk float. Carter carburetors don't usually leak/seep fuel.

Scott Smith is among the best for restoration.

Thank you for the referral
5wndwcpe, I appreciate it!

If anyone needs a carburetor restored feel free to contact me, best is email = Scott AT harmsauto DOT com I can take on any American made Carburetor restoration, Carter, Holley, Rochester, etc. 2,4,6BBL, or dual 4's. All will include new throttle shaft bushings, ink stamp inspection marking details, correct body finish and plating colors, and a test run on a mule engine to make sure there are no problems before shipment.

Thank you!
Scott
