is there a choke on my stock set up on the 67 ? Just having issues on cold starts as spring is slow warming up here.

Should be, post a picture of your set up incase someone took it off or disconnected it.

Sorry that would have been a good idea.
I can't see one but I'm not great on carbs etc ... yet

You have one, could be sticking or disconnected. Post a closeup picture of the passenger side linkage. Spray some carb cleaner on the passenger side linkage and the front top horn. Make sure to let it dry before starting it. Make sure the linkage moves around freely.

I can just see the sheet metal cover on the choke well, in pic 2.

Choke well is the tall structure on the pass side f the intake, just below the carb.

Has a somewhat large 1/2 round hole in the side and is covered by a sheet metal bracket that holds a bi-metallic spring in side.

Connected by a small diameter rod to the top butterfly on the carb.

On the other side is a fast idle screw that stops on a eccentric that turns into place when that butterfly closes.

Ok I come to you now with better photos with better knowledge. Let me know if you see anything wrong as all moves ok.

There are two holes on pas side that look like they should hold a return spring or something.

Looks like you're missing this piece. It attaches right where you are holding the piece in your picture.

For the life of me, I can't find a good picture of that side of the carburator for your car. It might just be manifold heat activated, maybe 1967 had the electric assisted one. Hang in there for more info from the '67 experts on here.

Do you have a shop manual? It should show you what you are missing.

Looks like what I saw was a rust spot.

:(

Ok cool at least I know what's missing, now to try find one online.

Any idea why it would have been removed?

Defective maybe, at least you have the butterfly valve.

Missing?! My youngest loses some of my stuff all the time(he's 43!). Anyone's guess why the choke rod is gone.

I thought it was an AVS as it has that vacuum choke return attached to it nice an high but it's all new to me so thanks for clarifying as i find it very tough to tell the difference. So I now know I have an AFB, one step closer thanks.
