Need to get a new seal for my trunk & plan on order this from Classic Industries. Anyone ever order this & if so was it good quality, or would you recommend a different company to go with?

Thanks in advance,

It all depends on how correct do you want to be with your weatherstripping. Trunk weatherstripping can vary depending upon year model and body style. If it is for the Charger as pictured, the original weatherstrip has a inner lip that lays inside the inner lip of the rain gutter. Most of the generic reproductions do not include the inner lip. It is not a necessity to sealing the trunk lid, but it is one of those detail items that is noticeable. The other reproduction is a correct profile with the inner lip. The original trunk weatherstripping was molded with areas without the lip. For certain model cars, I offer them with this area trimmed out as the factory did.
As with any weatherstripping, manufactures differ in the firmness and thickness of the profile. You will also find that one piece to the next from the same manufacture may have variances in them. As your doing, good to ask.

Thanks! It's for a 68 Charger. I want to have the correct style like it came with from the factory.

Rebel be absolutely sure how to put that in because I put mine in upside down on my 69 roadrunner and it is a bear to get off and I had to buy a new weatherstripping and put it back on the correct way. Good luck! X3 on the Metro

Thanks! The nice thing about smart phones is to take lots of pictures before removing anything, as well as pulling it back a bit to see how it's attached while still attached.

I used metro molded parts out of Minneapolis - trunk and door weather stripping. Top quality stuff. Expensive but gets the job done the right way. Google the name and their site will come up.

Let me know which one you buy and some installation tips. I need to replace my Road Runner's truck weatherstrip, but like you I'm confused on the many options for fitment.

BTW, the last time I did this (69 Coronet) I used 3M general trim adhesive (yellow snot) for the glue.

Will do! Didn't realize until I searched on this that you needed glue. I thought they kind of snapped into place. As far as installation, I'll do a dry run of installing it BEFORE I put the glue down.

It will work fine and if you can purchase it at $30.12 less $15.00 for a total of $15.12 with free shipping, then that is a very good price. But it is not a concours correct part if that is your direction. You can view my comments that I posted above about the seal.

That’s a metro?
No concourse Worries here,
I thought it was the better one?because there are ones out there for $18 Do you have a picture of the Concourse one because I was trying to tell the difference.
Thanks in advance Johnny!

Pricing for trunk weatherstripping is all over the board for the various manufactures. Some of the lesser priced weatherstripping is actually better than the more costly style. Attached is the two different profiles. The profile on the right is the OEM style with the lip that has to be trimmed for the rain gutter lip depending upon the application.
