Here's my shade-tree mechanic created tool to get them out and not damage the torsion bars . . .
Cut some grooves in a couple of pieces of 2x4 pine . . .
cut them a little under sized to make sure there was pressure on the bars when clamped . . .

Clamped them together on the torsion bar . . . and now have a surface to strike . . .

Passenger side came out easy - driver side took about an hour . . .

No damage to the torsion bars . . .

But the blocks of wood didn't hold up so well in the process - but they saved the torsion bars . . .
