Picked up a 67 GTX a while back.
1. Needs tires
Going with my FAV: "Cooper Cobras"
So; what are the BEST size tires I can put on the car?
Any help is appreciated

255's in the back with no leaf spring or suspension changes. 275 is pushing it with a 67.

255/60-15 is the safe bet with 7" or 8" wheel.

275/60-15 fit with a 15x8 wheel with 5" of backspace. I've seen people mount 275's on 7" wheels but it makes the tire balloon and look terrible in my opinion. Just too big if a tire for a 7" wheel.

Just watch the wheel backspace - the 15x7 Coker Magnums and Coker 215/75-15s on my car are a pain to install and remove at the rear and they aren't wide at all. I have to raise the rear to let the rear suspension droop completely down to get them past the fender lip. Even a half inch less backspace would make a difference.

Had 255/60/15 mounted on 15x8 4.5" backspace magnum rims for the rear. Tires were a pita to put on and take-off. Had to let the air out of the tire, jack the car up to "stretch" the suspension, and tire still had to be wrestled off. Not only that, on sharp turns, especially with a load, fender lips would groove the sidewalls. Got rid of the 255s, went with 235s; fit better, easier to take off.

Thanks gang...
The car was a former forum members GTX
Will or better known as, hmmm, forgot but he posted the video Terrible noises ....
It currently has an old Cragar mag SS on the car
I'll leave them on and check the back space
Again, thanks guys!
