Hey guys working on my trunk in my 73 re. Question is are there suppose to be panels on edge of trunk deck where trunk meets inner fenders. I was looking on classic industries and they sale a kit with a bunch of panels but I do not even know where they all go. Or does the mat just cover it up. Anybody have any pics of there restored trunk so I could see where all the panels go thanks

If you are talking about the trunk refinishing kit, then, well, I don't believe that was original to the 73 to my knowledge, unless it was a satellite thing, but I haven't seen one before. It basically covers up the sides and the tire, and it does make the trunk look nice.

I just put the trunk mat in, then some cut pile carpet over it to look like this.

Here is what it looks like with just the standard mat by the way, which I find that most for sale are plastic where the original was a cloth with plastic type backing.

Ok do you have My panels in the side to fill the gap where the trunk floor meets the fenders or do you just have the mat layer down

Nope, nothing to fill the gap between the floor and the quarters.
