Replace oil pickup while engine in the car

I need to replace the oil pan on my 71 Charger with 440.

I'm sure I can replace the pan by removing the center link, and raising the motor off its mounts.

Will I be able to replace the pickup tube while the engine is in the car also.

I don't know any reason you wouldn't be able to. .
 
Yeah, I did it couple years ago. I changed pans to a baffled pan and needed a pickup to match the new pan (deep sump).
 
And I don't "think" you have to un-bolt the motors mounts. I didn't have to on my '70, just dropped the center link.
 
Not sure on yours, but when removing the pan you may (or may not) need to rotate the crank to help clear counter weights.
