Holley Fuel Line Lesson Learned

I went to install an 850 double pumper I bought from RC yesterday. I had a brandy newey fuel line and affixed it to the carb. I made sure it was double-tight so there would be no fuel leakage. I started the 440 up and started seeing droplets hitting the windshield. Rain? We weren't supposed to get any rain. Then I realized it was gas!

I got out to see where it was leaking from, and gas was spraying out of the mother f%&$ing fuel pressure gauge port on the fuel line. It had a plug in it that one would think was installed properly, but no. Apparently all they do is screw them in, with the vain hope that the buyer will also pay out $50 for a gauge. I tried tightening the screw as much as I could, but there was still fuel weeping out of it.

So, I had to make a trip to Autozone, and get a tube a thread sealer, to complete the job. I pulled the plug, added the sealer, and tightened it down and the leaks stopped. So lesson learned - pull that plug and seal it before using one of these things.

Not only is that crazy but that's a great way to burn your car. There should be some tag attached to the carb with a warning on it.

Manufacturers put all kinds of stupid warning tags on things like on a lawnmower...........Not for inside use. Really?
Apparently this manufacturer hasn't been sued yet.
