Lokar cable question

The instructions say to separate the 2 nuts with one on each side of the fire wall. Well, there is an awefully big hole there. Do you use a big fender washer or are you just feeding this end into the exsisting bracket like the original cable?
 
Btw, that big hole in the firewall need to be sealed. The original cable had a big rubber ball on it to seal the hole. The lokar needs a grommet or maybe seem sealer.

I bought one cause I switched to a Quickfuel carb. Very easy to hook up and cleans the intake up without having the return spring bracket and the old throttle cable bracket.
