New guy here. I just inherited a 67 satellite convertible and it appears it may have a 273 commando in it. I can't seem to find any offering for a 273 commando in a 67 satellite. Was this possibly a drop in and not origional engine? Any ideas? Pics attached. Ps. I found a black metal typical air cleaner in uncles shed that has badge on it that says 273 commando.

Welcome to the site and congrats on inheriting a cool car! Some one here will know the answer to your question, but in the mean time, look on the inner fender under the hood on the driver's side and take a photo of the fender tag. Then we can help you decode what options came with the car.

Thanks. I am going up north to pick car up this weekend. I will take some more pics and put them up then.

I'm pretty sure the 273-4 was only available in A body cars.

I almost bought a 67 satellite vert a few years back, it had a 273ci commando in it original engine.

A lot of folks automatically associate "273" with "commando", but the 2 barrel motors were not commandos.

If you're not confused enough yet-

in 1966 and earlier a 361 2 barrel WAS a commando!

Ok. I found a certicard under hood in engine compartment located in a little black pouch behind radiator mount. Attached is a photo. Can someone decode the second line for me? I found an intake manifold with a 2 barel carb mounted to it in my uncles shed. Thinking it belongs to my engine. So I took it and some valve covers I wasn't sure about along with the 273 commando air cleaner.

Seems I may of inherited a fairly rare mopar. Every thing I'm finding shows they only made about 1350 of these convertibles in 67. Lucky me

Thanks. Anyone able to decode the certicard?
Take a photo of the fender tag. That is located on the drivers side inner fender under the hood. That can be decoded and will tell you the build options on the car.

Thanks. Anyone able to decode the certicard?

The top line is the VIN.
Trim code P6B paint code EE1 T5=Torquflite automatic tranny SA= Standard axle (not Sure grip) Scheduled Production Date looks like 0806 meaning August 6th. This is a very early built car. 1,309th VIN assigned. Built in the first week of production.

The rest of the tape would be the original owner and address, dealership and delivery date to the customer.

With over a 1,300 units built, that's not particularly "rare" for a B body vert. Most examples are less than 1,000 built; some years and models are in the low hundreds.

Thanks. I had already broke down the numbers and letters. I am looking for more specific results. I.e. P6B = what finish and color And EE1 = what color paint etc. trying to figure out what her origional fit and finish was.

Welcome. Sharp looking car
