My seats are out of a 64 Dart ( apparently) and they dont have a seat recline/lock lever, So the seats can flop forward. I dint know if thats how they were then or someone has removed the mechanism. Im just wanting to know if anyone else has run into this problem and added a lever mechanism in

So, doesn't it have some type of button or lever (or a place where one used to be)? You should be able to tell that just by looking at them.

I just texted a buddy of mine that used to have a '64 Valiant (?) to see if he remembers.

Nope. IIRC 1968 was first year of latching seat backs.

Buckets and/or bench.

Sounds like you might have seats from a 4 door car installed in your ride.

Well they dont even lock into place. Im thinking of going to a wreckers and getting a lever mechanism and retro fitting it.

These are the seats

68 was the first year for the seat backs to "lock" into place. I hated my 64's just for that reason, especially if ya got on the brake hard.
