back in the early 90's I purchased this dash bezel. the intent was to do a "rest-o mod"
so I primed it and then was going to paint it.
time goes by and I still have it primed
today I wonder what year is this from.. and I assure you its not home made

due to the presence of bezel material on the right hand side of the opening, my guesses would be 1- someone fiberglass in that area and then cut, shaped and drilled it, or, 2- that is an extremely rare radio "delete" bezel that someone modified for an over the counter stereo.

Is there wood grain in the area that would normally be missing on a factory radio bezel?

there is wood grain what should I use to remove the primer?
looking at the part number I wondered if that was an early 71 piece 2 knob radio is a perfect fit?

My guess is bezel is from a car with radio delete, so it originally never had the opening for a radio, and sometime someone cut it to fit an aftermarket radio.

Well, only comment I can make is it is not a 74 bezel. 74s had icons next to the headlamp and wiper knobs as shown.

This is from my 72 Roadrunner which I also sprayed recently. I hated the wood grain look.
I agree, yours was probably a radio delete.

Yup radio delete 71-73 b body shame they butchered it up that would be an extremely expensive part to o.e. guys

Wow holy cow!! If that was a 71-3 B Body radio delete rallye cluster bezel only to be hacked for an aftermarket unit, isn't that death by 1000 knives??
