71 Charger 8 3/4 Rear End 3.23 Gear or 3.55 or?

Do you mean rebuilding the diff?

If so sure ill take photos keeping in mind its my first time doing a diff :)

whats best way to remove the collar from the tapered bearing? i have a press but height not large enough with a bearing puller.

is grinder my only option with a chisel or some tool thats not to expensive?

also should i stick with tapered bearing or use green bearings? im reading that ill need to cut my axle with green bearings. is that true?

I believe the retainer collar can be chiseled hard around the OD while on an anvil in several spots to loosen it and may just slide off. As far as the bearing, if you don't have a separator you may need to cut the cage off, remove the rollers, and die grind the inner until it splits without cutting the axle. Don't cut it off with a torch.

I prefer the tapers but the greens have come a long way from what I hear.

OK a grinder worked well I put a relief cut then hammered it with a chisel finally came off. One bearing was toast and one was good but replacing both.

Cleaned up the housing and reinforced my k frame with firm feel brackets.

Rewelded all seams as well . can anyone let me know if the Mopar leafs should have clamps on each side or two on one side the leafs didn't have clamps I guess they fell off. I cleaned them up but unsure of clamp position they are from a 71 superbee 383

I always thought 3:23 were just a hair underpowered, I swapped to 3:55 and I'll never go back...
