What did you do to your Mopar today?

Recieived my new steel billit yoke and Strong U joint. Got the U joint pressed in the driveshaft. Bit of a struggle, but got the yoke installed, and had a heck of a time removing the tranny output shaft seal --under the car, on the floor, and the exhaust X pipe in the way. Piece O' cake finishing up in the morning.........MO

Brought my car home after nearly 2 years.
Needed a jump start from Mowpar's '78 Dodge Ramcharger and some ether after being idle for 4 months.

Crappy picture....11:00pm here now on a school night. Gave it the big rev coming down the street...guy across the road has a Chebby powered Dunnydore (Holden Commodore VL) so...a bit of a wake up for him. No doubt he'll be across the road quick smart on the weekend to have a nosey.

Last night I decreased the 76' torque-flight. Quite a job. Used a couple of can of brake clean to break the heavy stuff up, then sraped it off. Finished it off with Simple Green and small wire brushes. Will pick up some oven cleaner the finish the job. I haven't rebuilt one of these since the late seventies, but they are pretty simple compared to other makes. Need to choose a shift kit. Have been de-rusting small parts, bumper brackets, and pulleys. Did pick the block up from the machine shop after they cleaned it. He did it pretty cheap, I have to clean the passages and chase the threaded holes and hone the cylinders. This shop wasn't confident enough to install the cam bearings. So I have to take it to another shop for that. I have a couple other home projects to do now, so tomorrow I'll get on that block.

Beautiful Roger, just beautiful. Congrats.

That headliner looks like a pro did it. Nice job.
Thanks. It was extra tedious since, to the best of my knowledge, '55 Plymouth wagons didn't have a sewn headliner option. I had to make it work with an assortment of salvage yard bows and some homemade trim pieces for over the middle windows.

My cake got all moldy. Not for a second did I think about the 7290 yoke being longer than the broken 7260 yoke. Result: driveshaft is to long now. 120 miles one way to Omaha to get it shortened tomorrow . grrrrr.............................MO

New wheels and tires. Eagle Alloy 211 17x8's with Nitto NT555 G2's.

I had it at my buddy's house while I could continue my own home renovations. Still have work to do at home, but my buddy needs his barn space freed up a little. He still has my truck for a while, so that helps me out heaps.
Thanks for the compliment...I'll be on a car run at the end of the month - pics to come.

@bobtile wanted some more pics, so how's this buddy? Off the jack stands today.
Put in some static seat time today....suffering from the 'dreaded lurgy' so I made a nuisance of myself in the garage:lol:

I really enjoy Burton Cummings.

Called the driveshaft company on Thursday, to be sure I could get the work done Friday, and get back home to button things up. Left home at 7:00AM was at their shop at 9:30 and called them along the way to confirm I would be there. Guy at the counter must have had a rough night , acted like a drunk crack head. Had a hard time comprehending what I wanted done. I called them about noon and the boss said one of the techs had to be gone that day, he had sent the guy I talked to , home, and the boss was the only one there--but He promised to get mine done. Yes, picked up at 6: PM and we got home about 9 PM. Shortened 1 -1/4 " straightened and balanced the shaft -even painted it... bought a driveshaft loop $168 total. I had the car ready to go at 1:00AM Saturday and made it to the car show Saturday. I just now woke up from my nap and need to go to bed !!........................MO
