I agree.... but watch the run-off (use a towel that you don't care about because it will look like Mothra got ahold of it after you wash it). Muriatic = 12% hydrochloric acid... strong stuff.
My friends father's body shop used 0000 steel wool with rubbing alcohol and scrubbed and scrubbed. Then boiling hot water soaked newspaper and scrubbed more. Finished with glass wax and a buffer.

Use CLR in the silver bottle. It might take a couple of apps with it but the rust will gone easy peasy
