I was looking at this high rev ignition box on e bay, it claims to rev up to 7500 rpm, and only cost about 38.00 out performing the chrome box
Has anyone used this ?

That would only matter if your engine CAN rev to 7500. I looked at it on ebay and it does appear to have the right (Mopar) connections..... for $36, I'd give it a shot for a street car, why not? I mean, the WORST that could happen is that it burns out & you need another one.

Got one from E-Bugger along with the dist and harness. So far so good, about 2500 miles so far. Will see how it dose on the trip to Reno and back for HAN.

I have used both. Chromed MP box definitelly beats it out, but just if you have luck it lives enough. The High Rev is a nice one though. Defi a bit better than the orange

High rev is smoother. Feels allmost like stock
Chromed is WAY "crispy", way faster start up and great response. MAYBE could feel some missed beat on hard acceleration, but the goods are over the bads ( if some )... asside the durability. 2 broken in 3 years. The chromed box poor durability ( in my experience ) made me get the Rev-N-nator. While the Rev-N-Nator was being delivered to me ( I'm Overseas ) got a high-rev. Used it for couple of weeks and got satisfied, but missed the Chromed response though. While the High Rev was also arriving, used an Orange box I had handy. Didn't impress me. Maybe better than a stock replacement, but after use the Chromed one, I missed a lot its response

used for some months the old A688 FBO unit... really impressing too, side to side to the Chromed, but they are not available anymore and my car also eat it.

Rev-N-Nator box is a great response and smooth at the same time! the best of both worlds.

Honestly I woud put side by side the orange box and the high rev, more than side to side with the chromed. Maybe the High rev gets a higher RPM rate than the orange and closer to the chromed and thats why he tells is similar to the chromed? dunno, But I don think will ever reach close to 6K which is the orange rate, and definitelly the high rev is not close to the chromed response, but smoother

I must say I'm not a professional and never took my car to a dyno, just talking about feelings and ALSO my engine changed from stock 400 to a 451 stroker just right before the FBO ( can't recall if also with the 400 ) . Most of the time I used the Chromed on the stock 400. Can't recall if the Chromed was tested on the 451. Used the orange after the FBO fail while the High Rev arrived.

the Last Chromed just last long 2 weeks. Maybe right after the FBO ? can't recall really.

and also being not a pro, my experience on tunning the engine is poor, and I have being changing timming, mixture etc.. constantly.

Lats time I drove my Charger was 4 years ago and was with the Re-N-Nator, and will leave the bodyshop with it too. Don't think will look back to other one. High Rev will be my spare on trunk

Also must to say ALL this ECU changes were tested on same firecore250 wires and MSD 2 Chromed coil. Spark plug changed sometime from RJ12YC to XR5, but can't recall when. Maybe at the time the 451 was built or later ( definitelly not before that ).

Right now recalled, the FBO was used also on the 400 couple of months.

Quite happy with the old factory 6 cylinder ECU reves to 6800 no problem with miss fires or all the other crap everyone complains about.
By the way it was out of a 76 still has the Chrysler stamp and part number.
Everyone forgets the performance ECU's were never meant to be used for continues street use. Require a constant voltage to function correctly.

Did you have a problem with our New HRR688 billet ignition box with rev limiter???
It has a 5 year warranty! why would you not contact us for a replacement?
We have a test procedure for these computer controlled boxes to determine if it's the box or another issue please contact us for tech assistance, these boxes just do not fail and we need to know what happened to it.

No I never did... My problem was with the original A688... you covered the guarantee and I used that "credit" to buy Pushrods from you, so not a problem on that ( I couldn't ship it back to the States being I'm outside USA ). I still have the A688 box with me that I'd like to get it fixed somehow someday. I don't like those newer aluminium boxes look on my car. Just about prefferences. Even less the first ones ( HR688 knowing their inners )

I have a friend traveling to the States on oct 16. If you want it shipped it I could do, but would like to get it fixed. I really liked the A688. If was not failed, I never had tried another one. the price rate was really GOOD for the performance It got. I practically went with the rev-n-nator tired of failling boxes and had to pay for that. ( it was a big hit on my pocket back in the days even I got a special price being the first boxes made, as an offer. Cheaper than nowdays... its the #20 made ) Rev-N-Nator was a greatefull surprise thought.

I had fixed one MP Chromed but still have it around ( MJ10012 transistor failed ). My car is on body job since 2003 yet so can't test it yet

The old A688 can not be fixed just upgrade to the ultimate HRR688 Ignition box and be done with all this old 60's stuff
