Hi,
I'm installing new UCA's and new Cam Bolts and was wondering where I should be applying grease / anti-seize?
I was thinking grease to the bolt shank and anti-seize to the cam washers, but I don't want the cam to slip out of alignment and I'm reading conflicting info on the internet. The original cam bolt and washers rusted solid to the mount and I don't want this happening again.
Thanks

My service manual did not mention anything about applying antiseize to the cam bolts, I just torqued to spec.

My service manual doesn't say anything either, but then in 1966 they didn't think about what might rust years down the line. The grease I'm thinking is a given, being metal to metal rotating parts.
I'm wondering what the guys that do this work regularly do?

I lube only the bolt shanks. IMO, Nothing on the cams as I want them stay where set then paint or clear coat.

Threads should never have anything on them. If wanting to put anything on, put it on the shaft of the bolt to help if needing to remove them later on.

I think I'll just grease the bolt shank. It was only to prevent rust, which had previously spread to the control arm mount and frame rail, requiring new shock towers and rail sections to fix, which was a huge job. Being the car is now in sunny Australia and won't be driven on salted roads, it should be fine. Thanks for all the replies.
