I posted this in "General Discussion" also.

Today I was ordering Brad Penn break-in oil on Summit and it comes up "no longer available". Then they list a replacement product "Penn Grade" break-in oil, manufacturers part #71206. That's not the same Brad Penn part #009-7120 that I previously purchased for my break-in. Now what?

I contacted Penn Grade for some answers. I talked to Ken, (Manager of Technical Services) and he told me the name "Brad Penn" has been bought and the new product is "Penn Grade". He assured me that the formulas were not changed from Brad Penn, just the lable and bottle. Very pleasant person to talk to, very informative about their product. He stated that he can answer any questions at anytime and be sure to visit their website.

Okay! Now get back to work.
You'll never get it done posting on the web.

Man, the stories I could tell you about people with noisy valve trains, noisy secondary chains in their Japanese bikes ect. I'd tell them to try Kendall and it solved their noises every time!

My ex had her father change her oil and he was an avid Quaker man. I noticed how bad her oil cap was collecting this foamy goo so I changed her oil with Kendall, left the cap like it was, and by the end of the week it had totally cleaned it off to bare metal again.

KK I/we thought you already broke it in? Thoughts please.

probably why it's taking him 6 years to get er done....................LOL

Thanks again

Thank you for that information. I've used Brad Penn for ten years or so. That after losing three different flat tappet cams in three different family performance motors. We were using synthetic grade brands without the zinc. I wonder how many mushroomed lifters, worn cam lobes, and debris through the motors of hard working folks was due to the un-announced removal of zinc? Glad to hear Kendall lives on! If Garlits used it... Well???

Very funny. I've owned the car for six years, I have only been working on it for a little over a year...
Just Kidding, John........................
If the rest of the car turns out like the engine you'll have a really nice rare ride there.

My engine builder swears by the Brad Penn or Penn Grade oil. He also mentioned that it was the same as the old Kendall GT. I had a deal with Kendall in the mid 70's & that oil ALWAYS came out the cleanest compared to every other brand, Valvoline, Quaker State no comparison. I'll see how it looks with my new motor.

I switched from Castrol to Kendall in the early 1990's.

Was very happy, but then it became hard to find.

I then went to Valvoline and am happy with that, but wish Kendall/Penn was easier to get.

Hi Kid. You can get Brad Penn oil a lot cheaper at Mark Smalls Machine shop in Westminster, Md. No shipping either. He's a dealer and has it in stock.

A friend of mine has a low 9 second 350 c.i. vega . he broke a crank w/ the front wheels about 2 ft. in the air, in low gear. When I waked up beside the car and saw all that hi dollar "Kendal" oil running out on the strip, I told him it didn`t look any better than the normal stuff I was running in my vega. HE DIDN`T THINK IT WAS FUNNY FOR SOME REASON!
