Sad indeed. RIP to all the service men who passed and comfort to the families.

RIP. I have a family member who flies KC-130's. Everyone thinks it's a safe easy job. He risks his life every time he steps in to the cockpit. My condolences to the families.

When I first heard there was a structural failure, the first thing that went through my mind was wing cracks. These planes are getting OLD and routine examinations for cracks don't seem to be up to the task. When a C-130 fire tanker's wings came off in flight several years ago, the Navy ordered all of our planes to go through a comprehensive crack check, and dozens of birds that were thought to be safe were grounded.

I would like to know how old that C-130 was, and how many cycles it had.

This came out of MCAS Cherry Point, right down the road from us, and one of our customers. We have not heard whether anyone we knew was on board or not. Very sad day. Please keep them in your prayers.

A C-130
Tremendously reliable
FBI is on location
It was a "Tanker", lots of fuel onboard

God Bless our Men and Women

Very sad indeed, I wonder what went wrong.

one thing that I had realized after entering the service is every day you wake up something can go drastically wrong ,same can happen in civilian life but more likely in the service ,and I feel very lucky at my out come so far :usflag:

This hits hard and close being a retired air crew member. Bless their souls, may they rest in peace with the honor of serving for us all.
