The paint is called organisol. No idea where to get it...........................MO

Totally Auto, it's gonna be super duper pricey!

It also partly depends on the year and factory. You say '66 so it's likely Organisol which was lacquer based. However, after May 1968 the St. Louis plant switched to matte black enamel and the hoods looked about the same.

Thanks guys for the help. The body shop is using a satin black with satin clear. Another question I have is when washing and waxing the car, what do you guys use on satin paint for protection. I think that waxing it would make it glossy. Thanks

Don't wax it, just keep it clean and don't allow something like bird crap to be on it. FYI , don't put on something like flat black primer-even if it is epoxy primer , without at least using a satin paint top coat. And satin clear--all the better. ...........MO

Organisal was a laquer based anti-glare paint used on the noses of military and commercial jet aircraft in the 50s-60s. It was used by Chrysler through the early 1970s when it was determined to be a carcinogen and banned. 1970 AARs/TAs used it on their black hood paint for example. The Year One replacement for it is very close to the original finish.

My hood stripe is satin cleared and I wax it, it stays the same no problem, been doing it for 20 years or so.
