New personal best tonight

Nice pass, heavy girl too

Thanks for sharing some of your secrets :poke:

it'll be a real shocker/surprise to the guy
in the other lane back on the street...

I like the n2o system , seems like it really works well...

What rear tires are you using?

So they hook pretty good?
Yeah. It went 1.47 60' at the local 1/8 mile track last week. Fresh ones would probably be better. We'll see what this weekend brings. It's also a Caltrac/split monoleaf setup with strange double adjustable shocks. Shocks are 75% (made up statistic to over emphasize importance, lol) of making a car hook. Double adjustable only for making a car fast on the track. As HP goes up, so does the need for good shocks with proper valving.

I also have the same cal trac set up with Viking double adjustable shocks. Was just curious where your settings were to try and get a base line setting. But you probably have a extra 100 hp over me (on motor). I'm hoping for 11.50s 590hp with 3:73s

I have QA1 single adjustable on the front and they're set on full tight for compression so the weight transfers and stays up. The rear are set at 3 clicks on extension and 5 clicks compression on a 1-10 scale. The theory is to drive the tire in the ground and hold it there.

Yes. Mine are QA1 Viking dbl adjustable front and back. I will set mine similar to yours for a base line. I do have /6 torsion bars up front so I may have to change them, not sure. I'll have a better idea after the car is complete and I can put it on a scale. Have you ever weighed front axle and back for reference? Thanks for all the info!

I have an alterKtion front end with way less travel than you have which makes it difficult with a single adjustable front. You'll still want similar adjustments to start. If it comes up and tops out fast, you may have to slow it down as it'll unload the tire as it tops unless you have a ton of HP. I have scaled it and I'm somewhere around 53% on the front. R to L, I'm within a few pounds in the front, but the RR is about 25 heavier than the left and gets worse as my bottle gets used up. Overall, it was 4070 with me in it.

Great posts and info!

70 Roadrunner....
I have got some great info from you guys.
LOVE the covert NOS! I'd like to see if that same setup would fit under my Chrysler Edelbrock aluminum 6 bbl manifold on my 440.
Great work Hemirunner!!

Man you can say that again. You could pass the car as a 12 second car...total sleeper with different wheels/tires!
This is what it normally looks like

Plain jane...

Was in the outlaw street car race yesterday. Track was crap, 130 degree track temps, and even though prepped, had peeling rubber and bald patches. The air wasn't real good. DA was 2500ft. Track is at 500'. Howled the tires on the first pass. After putting in a power killing launch curve, we finally managed another 1.47 60' even though it was only a 6.46 pass. I was severely out gunned as these were big power adder street cars. I won first round by sheer luck as the guys nitrous system didn't come on. Whew! Into second round, I drew the fastest street car on the property. He went 5.20 ending my night. He won two rounds later with a 4.99@151mph. I'm probably done racing until Drag Week, especially with this heat.

Weighed the Nitrous bottle. Only 5 pounds in it which explains the pig fat O2 sensors.
