Okay somewhat new to Mopar and never knew they struggle so much starting. Mine is terrible it cranks once and then won't, turns over and sounds like it wont go then pop it starts...

Whats going on? So need an education on these and what can I do to help the thing turnover?

Battery is good only down fall its in the trunk. Any ideas on what to do? MSD ignition option? I don't understand what that does and sounds like a pricey conversion. I heard there is a mini high torque starter to help the starter.

It could very well be out of timing is that an easy thing to tackle if I'm new to this but mechanically inclined. Another thing is I just got new exhaust and they said my cables might be too small going to the trunk along with my ground? Along with the car running really rich. I think that's just a carb tuning correct?
Any help will be great!

Like KK said, also good grounds everywhere & what size are the batt.cables?( in trunk, I'd go with 2ga as a minimum)

The first thing to do is to verify the timing value. I'd start at TDC and advance ever so slowly once the engines running. Problem is it takes at least two people and a timing gun to get it right. If you don't know how to find TDC there are videos on YouTube. Consult your specific car manual for the correct timing - 12 degrees BTDC is usually pretty good. You say it starts but it could be it's not turning over quick enough. This could be a result of undersized main battery cable or just a poor ground on the negative side or corrosion at the terminals. You'll have to temporarily move the battery to the front with shorter cables to see if this is your problem after examining all battery connections. Surely the car started before you bought it so what's changed? If the starter is slow this could be due to resistance in the main battery cable from poor connections at the terminals including the crimped ones. If the car turns and starts after eliminating a cable issue by moving it you just saved a ton of time and money on replacing the starter. You now know there is too much amp drop from the rear of the car to the engine compartment. If there is no change after setting the timing and eliminating a cable issue the starter is in question. Trouble shooting takes time and patience and sometimes a bit of investment but it also saves on throwing good money away for unecessary items. I wouldn't worry about the carb until you actually get it to start. You did say it runs right, just doesn't start reliably? There are a miriad of other issues that could be in play here so you'll have to eliminate them one by one. Work safe, work smart!

I think moving the battery back to the engine permanently would be a good thing.
The negatives of having the battery in the trunk out weight the positives.
The argument for moving it to the trunk just doesn't carry as much weight.

There is just no room in under the hood for the battery since my car has air conditioning. NOt sure how it would fit there.

There should be room right here.
Where Chrysler put it.
You can get one most anywhere.
