Does anyone know if this intake manifold that Ray Barton sells fits under the hood of a 68 Charger with the oval, single four bbl air cleaner, the carb would be an 850 Holley??

The intake manifold from Classic Industries mn2761 (that says arriving soon) has said that for 10 months, I ordered one but they can't seem to come through with it. The Engine is in the shop being built so I have nothing to measure from or with based on the info Ray's site gives. Need first hand knowledge. The lower pic is of the Classic Ind. intake.

Has anyone had one of these Ray Barton intakes on a Hemi in any B body with a factory hood??

Here's a picture of my set up. That's with a drop base air cleaner. Sticks out about 2 or 3 inches on a 67 RT

I know a guy with a 70 Charger and No, it did not fit. He had a scoop on an aftermarket hood. I'll see if I still have pics and post if I do.

Take a look at the Edelbrock intake. It is a low single plane design for dual Carter's so the factory linkage, air cleaner assemblies will fit and it offers much improved flow over a stocker. Best of both worlds.

There seems to be a shortage of good 1 x 4 Hemi intakes that fit under the hood. Tim @FHO says the mopar version belongs on the scrap pile, I had heard that numerous times. The one I wanted will be made by HP perf. in Knoxville once they figure out the tooling. So I went with the Edelbrock dual four and FiTech dual TBI EFI #30064.

Excellent choice! Are you building a street car?

It will see mostly street use, but will get it to the 1/8 mile strip we have here. If I am lucky we will get it to a 1/4 mi strip in one of the towns further away. It is all aluminum with a solid roller, Edelbrock top, TTi and the Passon A855 I just received to back it up. Stuffed into a 68 Charger with a Dana 60 w/3:54

The Edelbrock intake is here and the dual FiTeck and pump have been ordered. Next question... what ATI balancer is the correct one for keeping the pulleys aligned. Have p/s and alternator of course. There seems to be some thicker than others. This is a 500 in Gen 11 engine with Eagle crank and Indy maxx block.
