Charlotte AutoFair at the Speedway - September 21 - 24, 2017

This is not the show for Mopar guys. If you like fords and chevys you will be right at home. Even old Herb stopped coming to this one after they took his spot.

From what he told me, he had reserved the same spot for the last 10 years but when they added the inside track they moved everyone around and he ended up in a non desirable spot.

If it's cars you're looking for they're here but if it's parts you're looking for it's slim pickings. Go to Mopars at the Rock or to to the Mopar show at Farmington Dragstrip if you're looking for parts

Yeah I went last year right after I found my car. I didnt take it as I had some major suspension work that needed to be done.

There were only like 20 Mopars there. I used to go with my family back in the early through late 90s when I was a kid and there was a lot larger turn out (large Mopar family, we alone probably brought 10 cars).

If I ask my uncle, he probably knows Herb.

I was disappointed last year, but it's the closest big show as I missed the Rock.

When is Farmington? Ha, probably missed that one too!

I was also thinking about the Petty Cruise in. I could probably get at least 5 other family members to bring their Mopars out. If Charlotte is not good, why don't we all try to put something together for Petty's?

I know at least one gentleman in my home town that's going and know two others that would probably go.

I have been going to Charlotte since 1977. For me, it is a five hour trip, but well worth it. You have to look and search the stuff out. Your not going to find more than three to five individuals selling entirely Mopar parts. Just this past April, I scored probably $3000 plus of NOS parts for less than a $900 investment. The majority of the parts were out in the Green field and was with one guy who told me that he had bought the items at a yard sale for next to nothing. I did not find the stash until late Friday afternoon and he said one other guy doing a 70 Road Runner had bought the NOS grill and trim items earlier in the day. The parts were in the back of his spaces mixed in with mid 70s Camaro parts. I always find it worth the time. For the Fall show, I would not recommend it, the show and swap meet is considerably smaller. Over the past couple of years, even the number of Mopars attending the Spring show has declined for some reason. As a car person, anyone who is into cars as a whole should find the Charlotte event worth your time, especially the Spring show.

Yeah that's what my uncle says as well. He lives local and said the spring show is way better. I think I might adjust my plans an go to the Petty Cruise In this Fall and do the Speedway next Spring.

charlotte is getting worse every year. weve had spaces since the late nineties and actually didnt renew for the fall show. They moved us even though our spaces still existed. We were told its done by seniority but couldnt tell us how someone else got the spaces we had for almost 20 years. Then the spaces moved to were deeper so they want to charge us more money.

there is a show 8.26 at peidmont dragway racing and swap meet

The Rock is really better than Piedmont. Piedmont did not have many vendors last year or show cars. We need to support it better.
