Steering column spacer

Does anyone know if these spacers are repopped ?

Last time I looked for those they were not being reproduced. I got lucky and found an NOS set on ebay, but you may have some luck posting in the WTB section here...

To my knowledge, they are nothing that I have seen offered by any of the restoration vendors.

Unless you're doing an exact resto/100 point car, those spacers are not necessary. I was told that they were used for the production line workers to help them guide the shaft/tubes during assembly.

It seems in my case they are necessary. I rebuilt the column after reading a post on here about using a $6 lower bearing. The cheap replacement does not have a beveled upper edge like the original . that bevel keeps the center tube centered & the shift collar straight. The new bearing edge is flat & simply butts against the tube end. The spacers are the only other thing to keep it all centered. No i know why those lower bearings are $90 !

What a coincidence, I just got done doing this to my 68 B Body steering column (auto on floor p/s). I read somewhere online (I think FABO) about this low cost bearing conversion. But it was for an A Body column and had a completely different assembly so my type of column wasn't covered anywhere on that thread. So I had to do some ingenuity and come up with a plan to make it work for my 68 column. I ended up using a section of the old bearing housing as part of my creation. It would be a lengthy write up to cover what all was done to make it work. Don't want to hijack your thread but I'm willing to share. Eventually I was going to do a write up on it. I doubt many folks would do what I had to do and go the easy path and buy the over priced OEM type repop replacement bearing. I saved $85.00 but have many hours into my planning and execution.

I'm not sure if those small clips will keep your inner shaft/tube centered.
