Awesome thread thanks Pops!! I just saw it and about choked on my oatmeal laughing....

Snap on might be good but... 20 years ago or so I purchased a 5 piece wrench set from the truck, all said and done it was something like $230.00 for 5 wrenches. I kept them in my tool box wrapped up and when he returned I told him sorry take them back. If you don't work in a garage it's hard to get things replaced or repaired and some of the Snap On Drivers get upset if your not a regular on their route, I understand. I switched to Craftsman, something I could afford. I have had no bad issues with them and if something does go wrong I don't have to find a truck I drive to the store. Just my 2¢

And at work nowadays with having to report the slightest workplace injury ....oooooh, the paperwork.
They tried that once. Explain ripping your thumb open on a staple while extracting a 30 lb. size of blueprints from a vertical rack or slicing your hand open with a piece of paper. I really prefer utility knife cuts over paper cuts.

This ended up in the back of my company truck after a job.--- 1-1/2"
I wonder if it is available in a ball end style?:)

This is a nut. ---Look at it and think about what you see.
This is a -very- small example of this type of "nut".

When we "torque" a bolt -what we are doing is pulling/stretching that bolt so it will perform its mission.
When the bolt dia. gets -big- other methods come into play when working with hand tools.

Use to know where there was a single nut you could have for free if you could carry it out the store by yourself. Darn thing only weighed 600 lbs.

Missing a picture.
In the end of the stem is a bowl that unscrews & in turn screws into hole up forward in stem, behind the hex head. It's solid brass, heavy. A beuatiful machining job. I used to carry it in the cupholder on engine cover in motorhome. 2 cops, different times, were curious about it & i told them it was my equalizer.....no problem there. Each one asked if He could hold it,,,no problem there.....neither had a clue to its clandestine nature. Just said, "man, that's a nice bolt!"
One night i did defend myself with it against a mob of juvenille deliquents.....it was enough to keep them at bay.:)

I'm a little dense Blade, so what is it, a pipe?

Yeah. It was given to me on my birthday, 06. The Person Who bestowed it upon me had it made much earlier in His Life. Novelty, because smoking out of brass isn't the best choice.
The job of machining is top drawer. In its incognito state as a bolt, unaware of its hidden agenda, People were drawn to it, enough to comment something such as, 'wow! That's a Big Bolt!
It polishes out sweet. I in turn gave it away to an Old Friend in beginning of '10. I asked Her to send me some pictures.
Here's the last one.
